Article 1.  Aims. 
Masi Foundation, in collaboration with the “Salieri-Zinetti” International Chamber Music Competition, promotes the “Masi Foundation” Recording Award for Venetian Culture aiming at the enhancement and diffusion of the culture and civilization of the Venetian area (geographic zone which includes the territories of the Veneto, a part of Trentino and Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the North-East of Italy). The goals of the project are inspired to the statute purposes of the Masi Foundation which pursues the objective to promote and enhance the territory, the heritage and the great capacities in the fields of the intellectual and productive achievements of the Venetian culture, which is that culture which developed in the wide area where the “Serenissima” Republic of Venice ruled for centuries.

Article 2.  Who.
Entry to the award is open to instrumental and vocals ensembles; no age or participation limit is to be applied: entry to the Prize is open to chamber music groups ranging from duo to chamber music orchestra with or without soloist or conductor, without any participants number limit.

Art. 3 Assignment methods. 
There are two assignment methods.
1. Self-nomination. Candidatures made by ensembles that propose 
a recording project not yet realized
 on the themes given by Masi Foundation 
can be taken into consideration. In this case the prize will also cover
 the costs of the recording at a professional studio.
The award will be assigned through the evaluation of a recording project lasting at least 60 minutes, mainly based on the compositions of authors who were born or predominantly lived in the Venetian area and developed on the themes proposed for the current edition (see here).
The object of the evaluation will be:
• the artistic project of the proposed programme on the basis of its characteristics of newness and interest, which will have to be illustrated with a brief report.
• the quality of the ensemble proposing the project and its experience in the proposed repertoire, which will have to emerge by a recording realized by the group and submitted together with the application form. 
The Jury reserves the right to ask for a live audition of one or more groups who candidate themselves to the award, should the Jury consider it necessary.
2. Direct assignment. The Award can be assigned directly 
by a commission of experts of the Masi Foundation who chooses 
a CD already produced and available on the market 
in line with the Foundation's themes. Record companies and interpreters
 can suggest recordings on the proposed subjects.

Article 4.  The Jury. 
The Jury is constituted of experts in the fields of music and in the recording industry sector, together with members of Masi Foundation. 

Article 5. Application procedure. 
The contestants that intend to propose their candidature must send the application form by 31st January of each year through the following ways:

• by email at

The following information and material must be included with the application (see facsimile at the competition website
• name of the group and its curriculum;
• type of group (specifying the instruments and their players);
• description of the recording project (a program lasting at least 60 minutes and an explanatory report);
• a cd (or a link to a youtube file) pointing out the quality of the group and its experience in the proposed repertoire.

The materials will not be returned unless sufficient packaging and postage are provided.

Art. 6  The Prize. 
1. In the case of self-nomination the Award will consist of:
• a contract for the recording of a compact disc; the contract doesn’t imply the giving of exclusive copyrights (it means that the interpreters will continue to hold the copyrights of the recording and can publish it with another recording company for a distribution on the market); the CD will be realized in a special edition and distributed by Masi Foundation to a mailing list of 4.000 opinion leaders all over the world;
• a cash prize as a fee for the realization of a concerts at a prestigeous venue.
Please note: the recording of the CD must be completed by 30th September;
2. In the case of direct assignment the Award will consist of:
• the realization of 4.000 CDs in a special edition on the basis of the recording supplied – after agreements - by the Company who holds the copyrights; the cd will be distributed to opinion leaders all over the world;
• a cash prize as a fee for the realization of a concerts at a prestigeous venue.

Please note: in both cases the cash prize will be granted after the concert performance.

Article 7.  Tv shooting. 
Resulting documentation and media coverage will not confer to the performers any rights over or compensation for the same.
